Dear La Perla Guests & Friends,

As we continue to watch the rise of Covid-19 in the U.S., you may sometimes feel like you're all knotted up.  To put your mind at ease about traveling, I want to share with you how we are managing COVID-19 in New Mexico and at La Perla in Old Town.

First, as New Mexicans, we feel protected by our Governor, Michele Lujan Grisham.  She has withstood significant criticism in order to put people first, and we appreciate it. Like most states, we too are seeing an increase in the number of Covid cases.  Of special concern is the fact that New Mexico is sandwiched between Texas and Arizona where Covid cases are much higher than most other States.

These concerns prompted the Governor to announce new, stricter mandates for New Mexico. This particularly impacts travel, requiring a 14-day quarantine for all those traveling here from out-of-state. I thought it would be helpful to share it with you now, even though we hope these restrictions will have been lifted by August.

All of the above have prompted Rob and me to reevaluate how we will operate La Perla for the remainder of 2020. With both our guests’ and our own safety in mind, the following is what we commit to you and ask of you, our guests.

Our commitment to you, our guest, during COVID-19:

  • The unit will be cleaned according to the current Hospitality Industry standards.  This includes cleaners wearing masks and gloves while cleaning, followed by additional disinfecting of surfaces, doors, and the entry gate.

  • We will leave 7-10 days between guests AND cleaning the unit when possible.  Should this not be possible, we will notify you and discuss any concerns or questions you have.

  • We will designate and clean guest areas on the courtyard patio daily.

  • We will wear masks and social distance at least 6 feet when greeting and talking with you

  • Disinfectant and paper towels will be stationed next to the gate, and wipes if we are able to obtain them.

  • Information regarding current New Mexico safety guidelines & requirements will be shared before and during your visit.

We ask that you, our guest, while staying at La Perla…

  • Wear a mask as you enter and leave the property.

  • Social distance at least 6 feet from others on the property, including us, your hosts.

  • Inform Rob or me when you will have visitors. This allows us to plan and disinfect outside furniture in the event you want to entertain on our new and improved patio.

  • Assume responsibility for cleaning the private back patio for your own use. It will be cleaned prior to your arrival.

  • Follow the guidelines in place in New Mexico at the time of your visit.

With heartfelt concern,    Phyllis & Rob Rispoli
